Regardless of size, your gift is most welcome and needed to assist our
Foundation in fulfilling its community mission. There are a variety of
ways you can invest in the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center
Foundation and contribute to the health of our community. Please
take a moment and consider how to best reflect your charitable
intentions while achieving your personal financial goals.
Ways to Donate
Gifts of Cash or Other Assets:
Contributions of cash by check or credit card are tax deductible, are the easiest ways of giving and are always welcome. Remember, however, for the purposes of income taxes, your cash gift is deductible only in the year in which it is donated. Check with your tax advisor to confirm the extent to which your donation is deductible.
Endowments:
An endowment fund is a special account that is established in order to generate revenue that will be used for a specific purpose. Funds of this type are sometimes established to create a revenue stream to fund research projects, provide scholarships to qualified applicants, or even to supply aid to individuals who apply to the fund for financial help. An endowment fund is designed to function in perpetuity, making it possible to provide financial support over the long-term.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of an endowment fund is that the principal amount contained in the account is not disbursed for any reason. This principal amount is invested in a manner that creates a steady return; it is this return that is actually used to supply personal and institutional support to any entity that meets the provisions that govern the disbursement process established for the fund. Since the amount of return can vary over time, the actual amount of the disbursements made from the fund will reflect the amount of surplus funds that are currently available.

Commemorative/Memorial:
Share feelings of joy and sorrow with others, while at the same time
benefiting the Hospital and its patients. A gift may be made as
an expression of sympathy, in remembrance of a loved one, as a tribute
to someone special, or to mark a special occasion -- graduation, birth,
birthday, anniversary, or speedy recovery.
Bequests:
A bequest in your will is an ideal way to reduce taxes and make a
significant gift to benefit the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center
Foundation. Ask your attorney to include a clause in your will or
add a codicil to an existing will. A bequest may be made for a
specific amount, a percent of your estates, and/or specific property.
Gifts of Life Insurance:
Do you have a paid-up life
insurance policy you no longer need? If so, consider naming
Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Foundation as the beneficiary of
that policy. You can also make Sierra Vista Regional Health
Center Foundation the owner of the policy, or turn it in for the
approximate cash value of the policy. Ask your insurance agent
for advice and for the necessary forms.
Gifts of Appreciated Assets:
Gifts of appreciated assets, such as stocks, bonds, and real estate,
offer additional tax benefits. By making a contribution of
appreciated assets instead of selling them, you can claim a tax
deduction for the current fair market value of the gift and avoid
capital gains tax. Talk with your tax advisor first.
Life Income Plans:
Today, well-planned philanthropy can play an important role to the
financial well being of the donor as it does to the recipient. When professional knowledge is applied to evaluating the various
options for planned giving, the value of a gift can be maximized for
the donor and organization. When contemplating major giving, it
is imperative that the donor understands tax advantages of these
options that can include Charitable Remainder Trusts or a Charitable
Gift Annuity.
If you would like to make a donation by check, please make your check payable to the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Foundation and mail it to the following address:

Your Time:
If your financial situation is tight and you don’t feel you can contribute monetarily, never underestimate the value of volunteering your time to the Foundation. Whether you routinely help throughout the year or have a few spare hours to assist the Foundation at one of their events, they always feel blessed to have a few extra hands to assist where needed.
