Dr. David Brown, Medical Director

SVRHC Family Health Clinic System

      Dr. David Brown is the Medical Director for Sierra Vista Regional Health Center’s Family Health Clinics located in Tombstone, Sonoita and now in Douglas. Dr. David Brown has been practicing Family Medicine in Sierra Vista for about 25 years and started his career in the medical field as a physician’s assistant. Obtaining his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Montserrat, British West Indies, Dr. Brown completed his residency with the Columbia Family Practice Residency Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Brown has experience with a broad spectrum of practicing medicine from pediatrics to geriatrics.

 

Janet Koharik, FNP

Sonoita Family Health

      In 2009 Janet moved to Sierra Vista to be with her husband and worked at Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center attending to service members and their dependents.  Prior to moving to Arizona, she lived in Florida and worked in an Urgent Care Center and an Emergency Room. Janet has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing. “I have 13 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner with an emphasis in emergency medicine and 28 years as a Registered Nurse.”

     Board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Janet’s scope of practice includes seeing infants from 2 months of age to any problems that may occur in an uncomplicated pregnancy and age groups all the way up to geriatrics. “I am a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau which is an International Honor Society for Nursing.” After 41 years in the medical profession, her career has come full circle. “I now find myself doing what I always loved the most – which is working in rural health.  It allows me to treat individuals with medical problems in a personal, caring environment while attending to their total health needs.”  

Janet Koharik is on staff at the clinic during regular hours of operation.

The clinic is also staffed with two Medical Assistants.

Appointments are preferred but we will accept walk-ins as the schedule permits.
