An “Environment of Care”

The Sierra Vista Regional Health Center’s Environmental Services Department (EVS) is dedicated to delivering high quality services, while creating and maintaining a safe, sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment. The EVS department also strives to create an environment of teamwork and initiative that fosters pride in workmanship and encourages high team performance.

We strive to promote excellent public relations and customer satisfaction as well as maintain high infection control standards that meet or exceed all applicable recommendations. This includes the responsibility of waste management (including biomedical, infectious, municipal, and recyclables).

Did you know that our EVS department is responsible for cleaning:

• 143,000 square feet three times a day
patient and non-patient rooms 387 times a day
bath and rest rooms 116 times within a 24 hour period
112,270 square feet of floor three times a day
890 windows throughout the year, both inside and out
five off-site locations

Our EVS department is a professional, multidisciplinary team. We promote environmental, occupational health, and safety services through education, consultation, monitoring, and planning in response to the present and future needs of the Sierra Vista community and Cochise County region. EVS also fosters partnership among community and government entities.
