Key West Night
Tired of the stuffy old parties that require pantyhose and ties?
Then the Key West Night is for you! It’s a laid-back,
Caribbean-themed fundraiser held at the Windemere Hotel and Conference
Center in May of each year. This is a fun filled evening and
people are encouraged to kick up their flip-flops and conga throughout
the island themed ballroom. Each year, entertainer Mark Mulligan
weaves his Margaritaville sounding music throughout the evening
creating a Caribbean style atmosphere. In addition to a wonderful
dinner the dress is very casual and comfortable. There is a silent
auction and a 50/50 drawing, but the fierce competition between
contestants during the pie eating contest is a blast to watch and will
keep you coming back for more.
For more information on tickets and the raffle, please call the Foundation office at 417-3021.

Carter Golf Classic
The first annual Golf Classic was held in 1995 and has been an extremely
popular tournament ever since. The Carter Classic Golf
Tournament, named after long-time hospital supporter Rusty Carter, is a
summer favorite in Sierra Vista drawing players from all over the southwest.
The Carter Classic kicks off with a Friday evening social event and culminates Saturday afternoon with the presentation of the coveted Carter Classic Trophy, all held at the Pueblo Del Sol Country Club. All golfers receive a bag of goodies along with an anxiously anticipated, top quality participant gift. The Foundation also sells raffle tickets for a chance to win a wide variety of amazing prizes.
The players are treated to a scrumptious buffet breakfast as they await the 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Then it's off to the course! With over $5,000.00 in prize money at stake, the competition can get fierce. Sodas, beer and other beverages are provided to our guests as they make their way around the beautiful Pueblo Del Sol golf course.
At
the conclusion of the tournament our hungry guests are treated to a palate-pleasing
lunch while scores are being tallied. Tournament winners are posted
and the winning raffle tickets announced. All in all, it's a wonderful
day!

The
2009 Carter Classic was the best golf tournament in the event's history. “We are very pleased with the enthusiastic support that this fundraiser receives every year,” said Eva Dickerson, president of the SVRHC Foundation which organizes the annual golf tournament. “We are also extremely grateful to everyone who participated in the tournament and to the many other individuals who volunteered their time to make this event a success for Sierra Vista Regional Health Center.”
Tip a Healthcare Professional
Tip
a Healthcare Professional Is another fun-filled event held at La Casita
Mexican Restaurant located at 465 E. Fry Blvd. in Sierra Vista. Once a
quarter for three hours, the Foundation partners with hospital leadership and staff to
help serve patrons at
La
Casita while earning "tips" that are donated directly to the
Foundation. It’s a fast paced and very rewarding evening. The last three successful events have hospital staff serving over 802 patrons. Funds raised through this fun and delicious event
will go towards the development of a new Lab/Infusion Center.
The next Tip A Healthcare Professional will be held on Wednesday, July 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at La Casita Mexican Restaurant. Come on out for some great Mexican food and partner with the hospital foundation to raise funds for a wonderful cause that will benefit the community.
Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees was held for the first time in December 2000 and
has quickly grown to be one of the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center
Foundation's most anticipated events. In the past, businesses, organizations,
and individuals generously donate lavishly decorated Christmas trees,
wreaths, centerpieces, stockings, and gingerbread houses. The Festival of Trees also
has many monetary sponsors that support this event.
All
the creative and beautifully decorated masterpieces are on display
in the Mall at Sierra Vista for twelve days during the festival.
The items entered in the festival can be purchased by paying a
buy it now price, or bidding on the item during the final week of the
event. Independent judges select winning entries in each of the
event's categories and ribbons are awarded for the public to view for the duration of the Festival of Trees.
On the last day of the event, a special celebration is held to honor
the many sponsors and volunteers for their donations of time, treasure
and talent, and to give the community one last time to place their bids
on unsold entries. Food, music, entertainment and raffle
drawings occur during the celebration as bidders make their final
wagers, and can take home their items that night, or trees can be
delivered the next day.
The next Festival of Trees will be held from November 21st through December 2nd, 2010.
