Key West Night

Tired of the stuffy old parties that require pantyhose and ties?  Then the Key West Night is for you!  This laid-back, Caribbean-themed fundraiser, held at the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center is a fun filled evening where everyone is encouraged to kick up their flip-flops and conga throughout the night.

The event features a Jimmy Buffet-style entertainer, social hour with silent and live auctions, a delectable dinner, a 50/50 raffle, as well as lots of exciting games where you could win fabulous prizes.  Let’s not forget the infamous pie-eating contest, where competitors battle face down for 45 seconds of pie eating frenzy.  This night is packed with so much fun it will keep you coming back for more.  Throw on your Caribbean shirt, shorts and flip-flops, and come experience it all!!

Our next Key West Night will be held on April 28, 2012.  For more information, please call the Foundation office at 520-417-3021.

On April 30, 2011 the Foundation held its 5th Annual Key West Night fundraiser.  This year’s event was our most successful to date.  Over $34,000.00 was raised for our community hospital.  The proceeds from this event will fund the purchase of equipment and offset the cost of remodeling our hospital kitchen area so we can offer customized, room service-type meals to our patients.  Mark your calendars now for our 6th Annual Key West Night – April 28, 2012 at the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center.

Carter Golf Classic

The first annual Golf Classic was held in 1995 and has been an extremely popular tournament ever since. The Carter Classic Golf Tournament, named after long-time hospital supporter Rusty Carter, is a summer favorite in Sierra Vista drawing players from all over the southwest.  As our most successful fundraising event of the year for our Foundation, this tournament earns more than $70,000 from entry fees and sponsorships annually to aid in the purchase of vital medical equipment and expansion of needed patient services for our community.

The Carter Classic kicks off with a Friday evening social event and culminates Saturday afternoon with the presentation of the coveted Carter Classic Trophy, all held at the Pueblo Del Sol Country Club.  All golfers receive a ditty bag and a tee gift for participating, and are treated to a wonderful buffet breakfast and lunch.  This tournament offers over $5000.00 in prize money and a chance to win fabulous items from the raffle drawings.

Our next Carter Classic Golf Tournament will be held August 18, 2012.  For more information or to request a registration form please call the Foundation office at      (520) 417-3021.

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees has become a favorite seasonal tradition for the residents and visitors of Cochise County.  First held in December 2000, this fundraiser has quickly grown to be one of the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Foundation's most anticipated events.

More importantly, the Festival of Trees is a distinctive community fundraiser that supports the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Foundation.  Our 12th Annual Festival of Trees, held November 20 through December 1, 2011 was our most successful and we are thrilled to report the Foundation netted just over $30,500.  These proceeds will go toward the Foundation’s $250,000 goal of acquiring critical operating room equipment for the development and expansion of SVRHC’s operating room services.

This wondrous event enriches our community with a truly wondrous holiday experience of giving and hope.  Individuals, groups, families, businesses and organizations step forward each year to be a part of the magic that is the Festival of Trees while raising valuable dollars that support health care here in Cochise County.  For this reason, it is with a heavy heart we inform you that the foundation will no longer be hosting the Festival of Trees.  However, the fabulous members of the SVRHC Auxiliary will be taking over next year and we encourage everyone’s continued participation in this event.

Tip a Healthcare Professional

Tip a Healthcare Professional Is another fun-filled event held at La Casita Mexican Restaurant and Cantina located at 465 East Fry Boulevard in Sierra Vista.  Under the watchful eye of restaurant owner, Phil Garcia and his fantastic staff, the Foundation partners with hospital leadership and personnel to help serve patrons at La Casita while earning "tips" that are donated directly to the Foundation.  It’s a fast paced and very rewarding evening that enables our staff to connect with the community outside of the hospital.  So don’t sit at home wondering what you will fix for dinner, come on out for some great Mexican food and be served b our wonderful hospital staff while supporting your community hospital.

BAWL AT THE MALL

The Mall at Sierra Vista held a “Bawl at the Mall” haunted house event October 22 – 31, 2010.  The mall’s general manager, Ken Cecil and his fabulous staff organized and executed this frightening, successful event with the help of an army of volunteers and the makeup talents of Buena High School drama students.  More than 2,200 brave souls walked through those haunted halls and all proceeds, which totaled $4,103.00, were generously donated to the Foundation.  We thank everyone who participated and supported this fantastic community event!

EMPLOYEE GIVING CAMPAIGN

Philanthropy is central to Sierra Vista Regional Health Center’s ability to maintain its role as a healthcare leader in Cochise County.  Corporations and donors often look at employee contributions as an indicator of a hospital’s strength.  Each year, our fabulous employees are given the opportunity to give back to the hospital and we are proud to tell you our employees definitely communicate a powerful message to our community that SVRHC is worthy of their financial support.

Our 2012 employee giving campaign theme is "Reaching for the Stars".  To date, the collective generosity of our hospital family has donated and pledge just over $28,000!!

Thank you SVRHC employees for supporting better healthcare for our families and our community!
