Nutrition Out Patient Services
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a service that a Registered Dietitian (RD) provides. MNT is nutrition counseling tailored to your disease or condition and lifestyle that will improve your health. It includes:
- An individualized visit with an RD to review your eating and lifestyle habits as well as medical information.
- Education provided by an RD regarding individualized meal plans designed to meet your lifestyle and medical condition.
- Follow up visits as needed to monitor your progress and continue nutrition counseling/education.

We provide individualized
medical nutrition therapy for all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics,

an appointment for MNT with a Registered Dietitian
- Contact
your primary care physician for a referral and prescription to see a dietitian
for your specific diagnosis or condition.

Nutrition Classes
Adult Weight Management Program
- Adult weight -management program for individuals struggling with weight control.
-5 week program which includes individualized weight-loss plan designed by a Registered Dietitian.
-Physician referral is not necessary but your body mass index (BMI) should be greater than 25.
-Cost: $20.00 per class, $100.00 for the 5 week series. Please register prior to attending.
Smart Teen Eating Program (STEP)
- FREE for kids and teens age 12 to 18 that have a concern about their weight.
-Ongoing program that meets after school every other week. Planned and led by a Registered Dietitian.
-Funded by Cochise County Steps grant.
-Please register prior to attending.
Nutrition Inpatient Services
As a patient, you will receive menus that reflect your appropriate diet; this allows you to select your food preferences. Menus are reviewed to assure appropriateness for the diet order written by your physician. Recently updated menus to reflect today's healthy lifestyle choices for patients on regular therapeutic diets.
Located on the ground floor, accessible by the main stairwell or by elevator near the Medical/Surgical nurses station, we welcome you to come experience our Café.
The Café is open for breakfast from 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. We offer a variety of hot entrees, fruit, and cereal; our grill is available until 9:30 a.m.
We are open for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hot entrees, salads, sandwiches, and soups are available every day.
Snack and Grill service are available from 1:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Dinner is served from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Hot entrees, salads, sandwiches, and soups are available every day. Our grill is open until 6:45 p.m.
Free coffee, tea, and lemonade along with our vending machines and microwaves are available 24 hours a day for your convenience.
