Located on the south east side of our hospital, ourMedical/Surgical Department can be easily located from the main entrance by following the main corridor to a T-intersection and turning left and following the hallway.
We are proud to offer you the latest in healthcare technology closer to home. As our largest department, the caring Medical/Surgical staff will care for you in the following settings:
- Before and
after surgery
- Observation
- Recuperation during and after illness
- Disease management
- Wound care
Our fully licensed and certified staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants. The entire hospital team consisting of respiratory therapists, clinical dietitians, Diagnostic Imaging technicians, case managers, social workers, medical technicians, pharmacists, Surgical Services, and rehabilitation specialists support you, when needed.
Continuing education is a hallmark of our Medical/Surgical Department. From training on the latest in healthcare equipment, CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Stabilization our highly trained staff provide our patients and their families specialized care around the clock.
Our soothing home-like patient rooms are semi-private and include:
- Remote controlled
televisions connected to cable
- Telephones (TTY equipment available, upon request)
- Restrooms
- Fully adjustable beds
- Individual climate controls
- Intercom system
To assist our patients, Sierra Vista Regional Health Center’s Auxiliary has purchased a closed circuit television network called Instant HealthLine. This network offers educational videos for our patients and staff. By allowing you to view the easily accessible videos from the privacy of your room, it helps reduce your anxiety and fear, assists you in carrying out treatment regimens, and makes you an informed part of your healthcare team. We are proud to offer this complimentary service as a courtesy to our patients. Your nurse will assist you with the videos that are tailored to your care.
So that our patients may receive the rest they need, we do request the following visiting guidelines be observed:
- Our Medical/Surgical
unit follows the general hospital visitation hours of 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Since our rooms are semiprivate, we respectfully ask that no more than two
visit at one time.
- Children may have a parent stay overnight with them.
- If you are ill, please do not visit so that we may reduce the spread of
infection.
