Throughout SVRHC — whether it be the Emergency Room, Surgery, Rehabilitation, Cardiac Cath or another area — gifts received from grateful patients make it possible for us to provide state-of-the-art technology so that our doctors and nurses can provide the best possible care for all our patients.  Our Grateful Patient program reaches out to former patients and provides an opportunity for them and their families to offer a financial gift to pay tribute to the doctors, nurses, and health care professionals who showed exceptional care that they or their loved one received while at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center.  You’ve benefited from the generosity of past patients, and we hope that you will “pay it forward” by extending the quality of care that you have received to future patients.

So, how do you say "Thank You" to a hospital, physician, nurse, or a whole department of caregivers? Personal notes of gratitude are always appropriate, but sometimes, you may wish to do more. Since the inception of the Foundation, the loving gifts of patients, their families and friends, and generous concerned citizens have contributed to the hospital's services and growth. The following stories are from patients who have experienced the caring of SVRHC.

     I have been admitted to Sierra Vista Regional Health Center for life-threatening conditions twice since April, 2009.  One was for pneumonia and a collapsed lung, and later in 2010 for emergency gall bladder surgery.  In both situations, I received excellent, loving care from the ICU and Medical/Surgical nurses and staff. 

   I felt like family, as the nurses shared with me stories about their lives, their favorite books….nurse June even smiled sweetly and told me it was time to get up and walk, when I really didn’t want to.  When I demurred, her answer was “I don’t recall asking you!”   Well, guess what?   I got up – laughing.  All the nurses add an extra dimension and meaning to the words, “tender loving care.”  There is not one bad apple, grinch, or grump in the bunch, and they do a very difficult job magnificently. 

     I choose to give to Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Foundation because I believe in their mission, and I know they will use my donations for the best use of our hospital.  I believe in the hospital and what they do, and I want my dollars to have an impact in our local community.  This is my home -- I have moved 27 times in my husband’s career, and we made a wise choice to finally settle in Sierra Vista. 

     As a co-founder of the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center Casa de la Paz Hospice, I truly believe in our hospital, and am proud to support all of the valuable programs they provide to our community.

• Emergency Department - Thanks for your efficient help & kindness. ICU Nurses - Thank you so very much for the wonderful care I was given. 

• Brittany and Yivonne in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services - They have been very pleasant and kind to me, and understanding of my limitations. I have enjoyed the instruction and time spent there. Elaine in Dietary Dept - Thank for your help in two patients’ recovery and pleasant stay and on behalf of the outstanding care you showed my husband. 

• Thank you to the entire staff of the Emergency room. Lou - Patient Scheduling - Lou takes the time when making your appointment to assist in a patient, caring and most considerate manner.  Please honor her and thank her. Faye & Elizabeth - Intensive Care and the ER for the supreme care given by these two departments.With my deepest thanks to the entire staff of the SVRHC! I have been treated at the hospital on at least four occasions.  I have always found the staff, including volunteers, caring and compassionate.  I have nothing but compliments for the service and care I received.  I thank each and every one of you. Dr. Alan Osumi - Radiology - Pays attention to details and very considerate to patients - He explains why he is doing a procedure. 

• The entire staff had been so caring of my late husband when he was a patient.  The Emergency staff was excellent also.  I too had to visit the emergency room and stayed two days as a patient.  I was treated with dignity and loving care.  We are so fortunate to have all of you to care for our needs. 

• Thank you! Davida - Outpatient Infusion Center - Thank you for your kind care. Charles and Shayna - Physical Therapy Rehab Hwy 90 - Thank you for your excellent service and encouragement in a warm and caring way.  It was a tough 6 1/2 months but I am sure my success in recovering so much use of my shoulder is because of both of you, and of course the Grace of God.  Thank you for all you do!

• To all the wonderful nurses and assistants on the medical surgical unit.  Thank you for caring for me when I had my shoulder repair and when I came to you when I had my stroke.  You were all so kind and caring.  A special thanks to Manny. John Herrod, MD - You're always there when we need you!

• Dr. S. Patel - He is simply the 'Best' Ambulatory Center pre-op and recovery unit - I would like to recognize the entire staff of the unit for the cheerful, kind, caring and professional treatment before and after a procedure my wife recently underwent.
